What happens in a massage?

First, you will be given a ConfidentialClient Summary to complete. This allows your therapist to quickly target your health concerns, compile relevant health information and provide the most customized treatment based on your needs.

Your RMT (Remedial Massage Therapist) will conduct a brief, verbal consultation, to benefit your treatment within set treatment time.

You will then be asked to disrobe while your RMT leaves the room momentarily. How nude you decide to be is entirely within your comfort level. You will be professionally "draped" (covered with sheets) where only the body part to be massaged will be exposed.

A NU U can optimize your treatment with the use of Hot Clay Packs and heated massage tables (at therapist's discretion). For oil, a scent-free, non-staining hypoallergenic Ayurvedic Blend is used.

During the massage, you are encouraged to verbalize any feedback regarding pressure (too light or painful/deep) and comfort issues. Please inform RMT any areas to pay extra attention to or avoid.

Silence? Talking? This is completely up to you. As RMT's, we are trained to focus entirely on your treatment, therefore allowing you to determine whether or not conversation is present. However, your RMT will  inquire occasionally about your comfort.

As the massage comes to a close, your RMT may suggest any relevant stretches, exercises or hydrotherapy (heat/ice) to do at home, enhancing your massage results.

Can I get just a Relaxation Massage?
Though A NU U RMT's are trained in Therapeutic Deep Tissue techniques, they can lighten up the pressure for a relaxation massage to promote overall reduction of stress and tension. Many clients request "Full Body Massage", which means feet, legs (front and back), top half of glutes (optional), back, neck, scalp, arms and hands (please inform therapist of aney areas you would like to avoid or spend extra time on). To effectively cover all these areas, a minimum of 60min is required. If you and your RMT decide to focus on any of the above mentioned areas, other areas may need additional treatment time or another visit. All treatments are therapeutic based, therefore non-sexual. In the case of any inappropriate comments, gestures or innuendo, treatment will be stopped immediately.
How can my Insurance pay for a massage?
A NU U is happy to provide Direct billing at no additional charge to most insurance companies for massage therapy. Blue Cross, Great west Life and Green Shield, to name a few. Upon booking your appointment, please mention about using your insurance. We will then ask for your plan/policy numbers  to contact your insurance company directly, to verify coverage details. You may also need a Medical Doctor's referral prior to any services rendered, depending on your plan. When massage therapy coverage is less than 100%, you will pay the "co-insurance" to A NU U. Please note, some insurance companies do not offer the option of Direct Billing. You would then be issued a receipt to submit for reimbursement. Please phone Leah @ 783-7273 for more information.
Do you offer "Couple's Massage"?
Definitely! Please specify if you would like to be together in the same room for your treatment. Our Infrared Sauna can also seat 2 (always you with someone you know) as well as our Ionic Detox.
Do you offer "House-Calls" or office visits?
Absolutely. A NU U delivers massage therapy, hot stone massage, trigger point for feet, Ionic detox, Ear Candling and our array of body treatments. Leave it to us, we bring all the stuff: massage tables, linens, oils. We enjoy parties, staff appreciation days or simply a chance for you to spend a night of therapeutic indulgence in! In regards to cost, we offer a sliding scale depending on number of clients, type and amount of services and location. Please contact Leah @ 783-7273 or leah@anuumassage.com for any assistance.
What are your most popular services? What do you recommend?

As A NU U staff are all fully trained and qualified massage therapists, a great choice would be a massage. Most clients choose 60 min. Offering services from head to toe, A NU U has you covered, be it pain relief or overall stress reduction. "Create Your Own Packages" are a fun versatile way to sample services of your choice, while making a superb gift certificate. Leah and Carol are happy to answer any questions and offer customized recommendations.

What are your cancellation/missed appointment policies?

A NU U strives to accommodate your preferred appointment time and once confirmed, that time is yours exclusively. To be respectful of your therapist and other clients, please be punctual, or even a few minutes early. Running late? We will do our best to provide treatment within original reserved time. If you must cancel or rebook, please phone 783-7273 within 24 hours. A NU U does not charge cancellation/missed appointment fees as we understand situations can arise.
